ELDEN BERRETT: When Elden Berrett isn't working at his full-time job, he's guiding the South Fork and Henry's Fork of the Snake. When he isn't guiding, he's fishing, which makes him a practical fly tier with patterns that have evolved from need. He knows what trout eat and how they see their food. When I last fished in Patagonia, South America, I saw a Berrett's Golden Stone stuck on the visor of the guide's vehicle. It turned out to be the hottest pattern of the entire trip. His flies just plain work! I've been a fly fishing outfitter for over 30 years and I haven't come across many guys that can "Get-R-Done" like Elden. We're fortunate not only because he works for us as a guide but also because our fly bins are stocked with Berrett patterns.
