MIGUEL MOREJOHN

MIGUEL MOREJOHN: My first trip with Miguel was on the Lower Deschutes, shortly after he moved to Portland in 2003. As a guide I'm always poking through my buddies' boxes, nabbing any fishy bugs for the next day on the water. There is no box I would rather peruse than Miguel's. The Bantam is my #1 sink tip fly for Deschutes summer steelhead, the perfect size for clear summer flows. The small brass eyes provide enough weight to get down without hanging up. There is no substitute for the Scorpion Stinger series when the river is pressured and the fish are short striking traditional wet flies. I have been lucky enough to field test many of Miguel's patterns. I'm convinced the flies' success come from his 20+ years of fly fishing in California, Idaho and Oregon and his knowledge of fly history combined with cutting-edge materials and design!
